Western Carolina Earthworx is a grading, excavation and land clearing contractor based in Avery County, North Carolina. We've been working the steep, rocky ground of Avery and Mitchell County since 2005.
Rooted in Avery County Ground
Western Carolina Earthworx has been doing the dirt work mountain property depends on since 2005: clearing land, grading house sites, digging foundations, and building driveways and roads that hold up to mountain weather. In 2026 the business became Western Carolina Earthworx, LLC, with the same name and the same focus on doing the job right.
Today we work with homeowners, builders and property owners across Avery and Mitchell County and over into Burnsville, on everything from small drainage fixes to full house sites, private roads and ponds. We also haul gravel.
Most of our work has always come from word of mouth. We'd like to keep it that way by pricing jobs clearly, communicating as the work goes, and leaving every site ready for whatever comes next.
